Five on Friday

I decided to write about five things I've experienced this week for which I am thankful.  This task has been a good exercise in counting my blessings.

#1.  Jigsaw Puzzle

I was a teenager the last time I did one of these.  It's a good way to accommodate my husbands football-season television hogging.

#2.  The Catfish House

This place really knows how to fry up some bottom dwellers.  We often go there for family birthday's, since they don't even flinch when you walk in and say, "table for 12 please."

#3.  The Lord's Supper

Last Sunday, my church served "The Lord's Supper."  This ordinance is a powerful reminder of Grace which is greater than all my sin.

#4  The Good News Club

I have the tremendous privilege of participating in an after school Bible club.  This year, we have a boat-load of kindergarteners; so, I have to work extra hard to compete with the drowsiness that sets in after a long day and a snack.  Their little heads get closer and closer to the table, then "conk," they're in sustained prayerful meditation.

#5.  My Dad

Since losing my mother last year, I've been spending a lot more time with my Dad.   We go to the gym together, eat diner together, and occasionally take a little trip.  My sister and I have been keeping him pretty busy, but we are the ones who are truly blessed.
