My Blue Period

"The only thing I knew how to do
was to keep on keeping on like a bird that flew
Tangled Up in Blue."
~Bob Dylan
Have you ever found yourself in a funk?  I did.  It lasted for about two years.  The weird part?  I didn't really notice the valley until I emerged on the other side.  From the crest of the far side, I looked back and thought to myself, "Whew!  Glad that's behind me."  The only way I could get out of bed some days was by God's sustaining grace and the certainty that he was hearing my prayers and working his good plan.  I will probably never know why He ordained certain things to come to pass, but I trust Him.  Even on my worst days, His mercies are made new.  I just had to open my eyes to see them.  I've never had a day that didn't have more things for which to give thanks than I could count.  Sometimes you just gotta keep on keeping on.

Today is a good day.

  1. Normally I do see my funks when I'm in the midst of them, but sometimes it takes my hubby pointing it out.

Sometimes one day at a time is all we can do.
