In my last post, I discussed the lack of children in our church. Since then, a small group of women including myself, have been meeting every Monday morning to pray. We pray for our church members, each other, our families, our Church leadership, and our nation. I know God hears our prayers. A few of us went door to door last July, inviting children to a 5-Day Bible Club. We had about 25 children in club, and one or two of those families have united with our church. Next week we will begin offering a Sunday evening study on Missions for the little ones. We pray the God will grant fruit.
On a lighter note... Last week, our Pastor passed out a pamphlet/ book to the church body entitled, I Am A Church Member, Discovering Attitudes That Make A Difference, by Thom Ranier. I'm waiting for my Dad to finish his copy so I can read it. Everyone seems to have really good things to say about it and I'm sure I will too. However, I'm not sure how I feel about the implications of this little gift. What would you think if your spouse gave you a book called, How To Be A Good Wife on your 20th anniversary? You might be tempted to return the favor by buying Him the companion book, How To Be A Good Husband. (Ha ha) After I read the book, I'll share my thoughts about it.
Hello again, Cathy! I didn't know you were back to blogging again :-) Good to hear from you -- chuckling about your response to the book gift and eager to hear your thoughts on it. Bless you for your faithfulness in prayer!
